Biden downplays Trump launching his third presidential campaign

President Joe Biden dismissed former President Donald Trump launching his third White House bid when pressed for his thoughts on the sidelines of the G-20 leaders summit in Bali, Indonesia.

Biden was standing beside French President Emmanuel Macron when a reporter accompanying the incumbent on his Asia trip asked whether he had a reaction to his predecessor’s announcement.

The New York Times’s Katie Rogers described the pair “briefly” looking at each other before sharing “the faintest of smirks” in her pool report.

“Not really,” Biden said before returning to the G-20 mangrove planting ceremonial event.

Macron remained mum and did not respond to the question about Trump. Earlier, Biden did not answer a query about NATO from a foreign reporter.

Meanwhile, Biden’s campaign Twitter account adopted a different approach, posting a tweet contending Trump “failed America,” along with a video.
